Bonnier Books UK has appointed Ella Whiddett as editor.
Whiddett joins from Little Tiger and is tasked with commissioning for the lists of the acclaimed Hot Key Books and Piccadilly Press imprints.
Whiddett has been at Little Tiger since 2018, having previously interned at David Higham Associates. She has worked across the fiction list, most notably managing Holly Webb’s young fiction publishing; commissioning and developing the Diary of an Accidental Witch middle grade series; and recently acquiring Little Tiger’s first YA title in translation, the award-winning Danish Kvantespring by Lise Villadsen.
Commenting on the news, Whiddett said: “I’m so pleased to be joining the wonderfully creative team at Bonnier, whose publishing I have long been a fan of. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have the opportunity to work with so many talented authors and am really looking forward to helping shape such a trailblazing list.”
Emma Matthewson, Children’s Fiction Executive Publisher, added: “We are very happy to have Ella joining us, and look forward to Ella’s abundant energy and creativity contributing to the publishing at Hot Key Books and Piccadilly Press.’’
Whiddett joins the company this November. She will report into Emma Matthewson.
