Perminder Mann, CEO, Bonnier Books UK, is joining The Youth Group’s Promise Council, as part of the company’s commitment to improve and accelerate its outreach to young people.
Led by CEO Jack Parsons, The Youth Group is a youth-first business that provides young people with the tools they need to get ahead and grow in work. They also help enterprise, government and education to engage, recruit and support youth.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a seismic effect on young people. Unemployment, underemployment, and higher living costs have left young people feeling disillusioned, disheartened and disconnected.
That’s why The Youth Group is stepping up with its 100 Youth Promises movement that pledges to make it a better, more productive enterprise, able to support young people even more meaningfully.
As part of the Promise Council, Mann and her fellow council members – including Marco Bertozzi, former vice president at Spotify; Cadence Willis, global director of Collinson and Stevie Antonioni, head of sales at LadBible – will be holding The Youth Group to account for every one of the 100 promises.
Mann said: “I’m absolutely honoured to have been invited to join The Youth Group’s Promise Council. I’ve been so impressed by Jack’s energy and vision and the work that everyone in his team is doing to improve the odds for young people around the world. We cannot underplay the economic and social impact of the pandemic on young people and it’s crucial that businesses step up to offer them the opportunities they need to thrive.”
Parsons said: “It is so exciting to have such an accomplished and inspiring leader join our promise council – I can’t wait to work closely with Perminder and add her super creativity and experience to our work, to get some really meaningful things going for young people!”
The company’s commitment to improve and accelerate its outreach to young people is part of its inaugural Diversity & Inclusion Action plan, published last month (Feburary 2021).
